GROWING SUSTAINABLY

our commitment

We, and our growers, are committed to the wholesome, sustainable agriculture system that preserves, and improves, our natural resources like air, soil, and water. What we offer starts with who we choose to work with, so we choose growers who are committed to conserving the harmony of our fragile ecosystem by farming responsibly, intentionally, and in unison with the environment. We know the dedication and hard work we put into the land now, affects the vegetables we grow and the future generations that follow us.

our practices and methods

It is our number one priority, and in everyone’s best interest, to supply product from land that is taken care of, and preserved, in order to provide Mother Nature’s best vegetables. This is why we start with choosing growers who hold values that align with ours. We stick to tried and true methods, such as: placing drip tape out in the field, planting beneficial flowers, tilling cover crops, crop rotation, and utilizing the best biological practices as much as we can. We feed organic matter (unused vegetables) back into the ground, which allows the soil to thrive and be less reliant on chemicals to fight certain diseases and pests. We lean on our industry to stay up to date with new innovative practices in order to maintain efficiency out in the field. Old and new, these methods allow our growers to maintain healthy, fertile soil, fight pests naturally, and nurture the land.

our packaging

Pacific aims to do our part in the circular economy. We mark each of our plastic bags and wraps with an identifying recycling code; low-density polyethylene (LDPE), recycling code #4. This lightweight plastic is intended for fresh produce use, and when recycled, it can be used to make paneling, landscape ties, or even floor tiles.

In addition, we are transitioning from waxed cartons to 100% recyclable polypropylene (PP, recycling code #5) cartons. Not only can the polypropylene cartons be recycled, but they also eliminate waste, reduce carbon greenhouse gas, and reduce outbound shipping weight.
