QUALITY CONTROL WITH MARTHA
who is martha?
How do we keep our quality so great? One of the reasons is Martha, our Quality Control Manager! We rely on her to ensure that our product is of the highest quality, so we can provide the freshest veggies straight from the fields.
Martha went to school for business and accounting and found herself in the Agriculture Industry and never left (kind of like all of us)! She has been working in the industry for 25 years. Her career at Pacific started at our Pure Pacific Organic processing plant where she increased her knowledge in production for 12 years, spending her time holding various positions, such as: packing, receiving, dispatching, and supervising production. Martha mentioned that working here “has been a great learning experience for [her], and [she has] grown so much within the company.” So much so that a little under a year and half ago, Martha joined our QC Department where she enjoys the challenge of learning all things quality control.
What does martha do at Pacific?
Every day Martha reviews our inventory, product quality, and quality reports. She starts her day in the office where she ensures our inventory numbers in the system are lining up with our physical inventory. If there are discrepancies, Martha will then head to the cooler where she can see if product was misloaded or rotated incorrectly. Because her main goal is to ensure that Pacific and Pure Pacific Organic vegetables are the best quality to meet our customers’ standards and needs, she checks the product daily, as well as reviewing the quality reports. Our quality report system allows her to see what product has been approved or failed. From there, Martha is able to communicate with our Sales Team and Production Managers about any issues that may be present.
Why do we love martha?
Martha’s eagerness and willingness to learn has created a great sense of trust, and as our company grows, Martha is who we lean on to get the job done. Not only can we rely on her to problem solve and have a positive attitude, her time at Pacific has led her to being a leader and mentor to those around her. She enjoys working for our company, “because this company has some of the best workers [she] has ever met.” Martha is one of them, and we are so lucky to have her!
