our organic & conventional romaine

Romaine has an elongated shape and dark green, coarse leaves providing a special crunch and mild, slightly bitter flavor. Unlike most lettuces, romaine holds up to heat - not only is it great for salads and wraps, you can toss it on the grill for another level of flavor. Our romaine and romaine hearts are supplied to retail, club store, and food service customers.

shopping

When choosing romaine lettuce, look for bright green, crisp leaves. Avoid heads with pink ribs, wilted leaves, or dark green, mushy areas.

storing

Store your lettuce unwashed in the original package or rinse the leaves thoroughly, allow to dry, and refrigerate in a sealed bag with a paper towel.

prepping

Remove any outer leaves if necessary. Cut off the tips of the leaves and butt of romaine, whole head or heart. The lettuce can be chopped, leaves left whole and torn off, or torn into pieces. Rinse the product under cold water and pat dry or put in a salad spinner.

nutrition
